Tigers send Twins to ninth straight loss
(Detroit, MI) -- 5-24-13-- The Tigers combined for four runs in the seventh and
eighth innings to rally by the Twins 7-6 last night in Michigan. The loss
was the ninth in a row for the Twins, who dipped to 18-and-26 on the season.
Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera blasted his 14th homer of the season

Gophers lose to Indiana, face elimination today

Indiana in the Big Ten Baseball Tournament at Target Field last night, 4-2.
The fourth-seeded Gophers now slip into the loser's bracket of the
double-elimination tournament and will face Illinois in a game today at noon

Braves pound Twins, sweep series
(Atlanta, GA) -- 5-23-13-- Atlanta's Evan Gattis capped a five-run fourth inning
with a grand slam as the Braves topped the Twins 8-3 yesterday in Atlanta.
Ramiro Pena and B.J. Upton hit solo shots for Atlanta, which built an 8-0
lead and cruised from there. Paul Maholm (mah-HAH-lum) allowed just one
unearned run in seven innings for the win as the Braves swept the three-game

Worley sent back to minor leagues, Plouffe to 7 day DL
(Atlanta, GA) -- 5-23-13-- The Twins optioned pitcher Vance Worley to Class AAA
Rochester following a disappointing outing on Wednesday in Atlanta. Worley
was rocked for eight runs and 10 hits in just three-and-two-thirds innings
as he fell to 1-and-5 on the season. His earned run average is now 7.21 in
