Blake Lively is Lily Bloom in first trailer for 'It Ends with Us'

The trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel It Ends with Us, starring Blake Lively, has arrived.

In the Justin Baldoni-directed film, arriving in theaters August 9, Lively plays Lily Bloom, a young woman who has dealt with a traumatic upbringing, and is now starting a new life and business opening a flower shop in Boston.

She meets Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni), a neurosurgeon, and the two quickly fall for each other.

The trailer gives a glimpse of their characters falling in love, set to Taylor Swift's "my tears ricochet," before showing how Ryle's abuse impacts their relationship.

"Fifteen seconds. That’s all it takes to completely change everything,” Lily says in the trailer.

Hoover has previously said the book, which touches largely on domestic abuse, was inspired by her mother's own escape from abuse.

"If one day you had a daughter, what would you say to her — if she came to you and she said the person she loved was hurting her?" Lily asks Ryle in the trailer. "What would you say to her?"

The trailer also shows Lily reuniting with her childhood love Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar) and seeking support from him. It also flashes back to scenes of them when they were younger.

The cast of It Ends With Us includes Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj and Amy Morton.

Olivia Munn speaks on her breast cancer journey in first TV interview since surgeries

Olivia Munn is opening up in her first TV interview since revealing her most recent surgeries as part of her breast cancer journey.

"You never know what's going on in someone's life ... privately, people are battling things that you'd never know," Munn told Good Morning America co-anchor Michael Strahan.

Munn said she is speaking out and sharing more of her personal experience in hopes that her story will help others.

The actress opened up about her private health battle on social media in March when she revealed she had been unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

Munn told Strahan when she first heard the word "cancer," she immediately thought of her son, Malcolm, whom she shares with her partner, John Mulaney.

"I just thought of my baby," Munn said. "You know, cancer is the -- that's the word you don't wanna hear. There's a lot of other things that you feel like you can beat. But you know, cancer takes down a lot of people. And I just thought about my baby."

Munn said she was diagnosed with stage 1 aggressive Luminal B breast cancer in both breasts in April 2023.

"They said that if I was extremely aggressive, that I could fight this and win," Munn said. "But, at the same time, once they started finding all of these little spots in my breasts like, 'Oh, there's another tumor. There's another tumor,' there was such an urgency to it because we had to get in and make some really big decisions."

Munn underwent a double mastectomy 30 days after receiving her breast cancer diagnosis. She shared an emotional video of her with her doctor before surgery.

"Do it for him, do it for your baby," her doctor tells her in the clip, before Munn says, "I'm ready."

Adam Driver reteams with Jim Jarmusch for new film with Cate Blanchett

Adam Driver is reteaming with Jim Jarmusch for his upcoming film Father Mother Sister Brother.

The news, first reported by Variety, marks the third collaboration between the actor and the filmmaker. Driver previously starred in Jarmusch's films Paterson and The Dead Don’t Die.

Driver joins a star-studded cast that includes Cate Blanchett, Vicky Krieps, Mayim Bialik, Tom Waits, Charlotte Rampling, Indya Moore and Luka Sabbat.

The film, which is a triptych, follows three separate stories: “Father,” “Mother” and “Brother Sister.” Each story takes place in a different country. The film revolves around adult children and their relationships with their distant parents and siblings.

The “Father” section is set in the northeastern coast of the U.S., and the “Mother” section takes place in Dublin, Ireland, while “Sister Brother” is set in Paris, France.

The film’s official description calls Father Mother Sister Brother a “comedy interwoven with threads of melancholy,” also saying it is “quiet, observational and non-judgmental.”

Glen Powell’s parents troll him on red carpet at 'Hit Man' premiere

Our parents tend to be our biggest fans, but in the case of Glen Powell, his prefer to keep him humble.

While on the red carpet for the premiere of his new film, Hit Man, on Wednesday, May 15, Powell posed for pictures in front of his parents, who both held up playfully trolling signs behind him.

His mom, Cyndy Powell, held up a sign that read, “STOP TRYING TO MAKE GLEN POWELL HAPPEN,” while his dad, Glen Powell Sr., carried a sign that read, “IT’S NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.”

Powell made sure to give his reaction to his parents’ prank, which he described as coming from the mean tweets they’d read about him.

“Well, my family — always my mom and my dad — are known for kind of trolling me a bit," Powell told Entertainment Tonight. "I don't read tweets, but my parents read tweets — so if you're talking s***, know that my parents are reading those tweets.”

So, how did Powell really feel about all the trolling?

“They thought that was going to be a funny idea, so I loved it," Powell continued. "Even though they troll me, they support me in every in every way.”

Hit Man’s director Richard Linklater also showed support for the actor. He declared that this will be a big year for Powell, who also stars in the upcoming summer release Twisters.

“It's Glen's night, it's Glen's summer it seems,” Linklater said. “Might be the year of Glen.”

Hit Man will have a limited theatrical release starting May 24. It streams Friday, June 7, on Netflix.

Dow Jones Industrial Average hits 40,000 for the 1st time

(NEW YORK) -- The Dow Jones Industrial Average crossed 40,000 for the first time in history on Thursday.

This is a significant and symbolic milestone for the index that tracks 30 of the most valuable publicly traded companies in the U.S.

The Dow is now up about 6% so far this year.

The recent rally in the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq has been fueled by data showing inflation is cooling, which would allow the Federal Reserve to begin its long-awaited interest rate cuts.

Inflation data released on Wednesday showed that price increases slowed slightly from the annual rate recorded in the previous month, ending a surge of inflation that stretches back to the beginning of 2024.

In recent months, the Fed had all but abandoned its previous forecast of three quarter-point rate cuts this year. But the slowdown of price hikes offered hope of rekindling those plans.

"The combination of the Fed likely to be lowering interest rates because inflation is moderating with a resilient economy is a beautiful scenario for a bull market," Ed Yardeni, the president of market advisory firm Yardeni Research and former chief investment strategist at Deutsche Bank's U.S. equities division, told ABC News.

"It’s more enjoyable to say the market is going to these nice, round numbers in record-high territory than coming back down to them," Yardeni added.

The inflation news on Wednesday sent each of the major stock indexes up more than 5% for the day, propelling all of them to record highs. In early trading on Thursday, the Dow had ticked up a quarter of a percentage point.

Observers have also attributed this year's stock market rally to the rise in value of some major tech firms, driven largely by enthusiasm about artificial intelligence.

Nicola Coughlan on friends-to-lovers romance in 'Bridgerton' season 3

Dearest reader, Bridgerton season 3 is finally here.

The new season of the popular Shonda Rhimes show arrived Thursday, May 16, on Netflix. It centers on the romance between Nicola Coughlan's Penelope Featherington and Luke Newton's Colin Bridgerton.

In an interview with Good Morning America ahead of the new season, Coughlan and Newton said they were excited to explore Penelope and Colin's friends-to-lovers arc.

"They really have built a foundation of friendship, which sets them up for better or for worse in the future," Newton said. "Ultimately, it's something that really connects them -- the history of the two characters."

The new season picks up after season 2 dramatically culminated with Penelope overhearing Colin tell friends he'd never "dream of courting" her.

Coughlan said she was interested in delving into the shifting power dynamic between the two in the upcoming season.

"I was excited to explore her and Colin's relationship when they were finally on an even playing field, because they never have been before," she said. "That's a lot to do with Pen just idolizing Colin and putting him on way too much of a pedestal."

Following last season, Coughlan said she was "excited for [Penelope] to then not think of him in that way and to give him hell for what he said about her."

While Coughlan said Penelope's and Colin's relationship "never goes back to what it was," she shared how it serves as a catalyst for change for Penelope, who embarks on her own path this season and is determined to find a husband.

"That's a wonderful thing," she said. "Sometimes, if you can break out of patterns you have with people and go, 'This is who I am now, and I'm not gonna be treated like that' -- that's really empowering."
